How to use an online drum beat editor
A visual sequencer turns a rhythmic idea into a pattern you can hear, correct, and share without installing software.
Start with a clear pulse
Choose a comfortable tempo and begin with kick, snare, and hi-hat. A simple foundation makes timing problems easier to hear.
In Drums Engine each column represents a division of the bar. Add notes with a mouse or touch screen and hear every change immediately.
- Set the BPM before filling the grid.
- Build one bar and repeat it.
- Add variations only after the foundation feels stable.
Edit in layers
Working on one instrument at a time reduces mistakes. Begin with the kick, add the snare, and finish with cymbals, toms, and ornaments.
Use selection, copy, and duplicate to preserve rhythmic motifs. If the beat feels rigid, try another subdivision or change only the notes that create the accent.
Save a reusable version
Keep the project in your browser or download it as JSON. The downloaded copy can be reopened later or sent to another musician.
When the groove is ready, open the integrated score to check how the grid translates into music notation.
